The dumbest part too me is that there's no reason to ever hire a minor to be a VTuber. There's just no way it can be of any advantage and many many ways for it to be a problem. Even if you did everything to make it safe and supervised, you really would be better off hiring an adult woman. For youtube, in general they want to get rid of anything with minors that could be considered sexualized as long as it's been flag'd enough. They won't do shit proactively, and of course somehow there are some large channels that are basically TNA try on hauls with Minors that persist seemingly without problem.

I'm just gonna say that I'm against censorship of the internet but I'm also against whatever kind of fucking degenerate, brain-rotted monsters unrestricted access to grooming circles full of troons and coomers is gonna turn the people who will eventually take office and make laws into, god help us all. It definitely should be on parents and not the government to keep that in check though, sadly most people fuck first and think later and most people are TERRIBLE fucking parents.
Yeah and it's very stupid because if you try to use it as an advantage you're at least getting canceled and maybe going to jail if anything bad ever happens. Even it being announced is a big mistake if they're in anyway trying to be legit. If you really really wanted a legit underaged talent, you would just keep it private and have strict moderation and guidelines and NEVER reveal the age or any personal information about the talent. I just don't see any legit way they could think a 15yo is going to be more entertaining or relatable to the audience then a 20+ year old. The only possible way I could see it as legit (but stupid still) is if it's a parent running the company and they're just nepo hiring them, but even it's really stupid to reveal that they're a minor.

How willing they are to just shove internet-connected devices into the hands of their kid's or watch while other adults in the education system do it for them, because they don't give a shit and want any excuse at all to distract their kids or not have to involve themselves in their kid's lives. There's such a lack of personal responsibility, and governments are more than happy for you to give that up to them so they can justify tightening the noose more and more.
