The whole situation is just sad. Everyone around him is genuine and clearly cares for him to a degree (especially his sister, who according to his own words even went as far to help him deal with his mental illness). I’m surprised at how they can deal with keeping him around when it’s obvious that he played a non-insignificant part in his sister’s suicide. He doesn’t do it intentionally, but it’s pretty obvious from his own postings that his family (or his parents, at the very least) approaches him with care and is trying to better his life. But Nolan never learns, and he never will, because his disabilities and incompetencies prevent him from ever making a change in his life. The best thing his parents can do for him is to send him to some sort of mental hospital where he can be given the proper that he needs, but the irony of the situation is that they love him too much to send him to one. Only way I can see this ending is a) either someone from outside of the family manages to convince his parents to send him to a mental institution, or b) (the more likely conclusion) he ends up self destructing and potentially taking the people around him along the way.
Honestly, depending on how/if Nolan learns to actually manage his mental state & diabetes, it might actually be for the best that he's stuck at home and can't get a job if they're not gonna get him specialised help. As rough as that sounds on the family because the older you get the less patience society has for making your problems everyone else's problems, and no-one learns this like the mentally handicapped. Retard kids are excusable and even cute, retard adults are dangerous.
Nolan chimping out and busting out the perfect rush on his boss because he was told to stop UOHposting in Gura's chat and get back on the fries, or mixing up the genre into a GTA road rage segment because he thought he might miss a debut, could land him and his family in serious shit.
