You're not wrong, but Jersh makes some valid points. There is a choice to be made and it has to do with you 'choosing' to work through your mental illness or succumbing to the debilitating discourse that "all is lost" because you think there is no other way to "fix" it. I've seen extreme cases of depression, lived through a few loses because of it, and well, it is a shit mood disorder. Deep down people who suffer from it do want help, but no amount of help will come through and push them to seek it, unless they want to force themselves to go through those feelings, fatigue, and above all, any trauma attached to it. Unfortunately, we are living in times that people have chosen to make their depression their whole personality and sell it as some quirky trait, when it isn't and shouldn't be glorified. Like you also said, there is always that push that 'pills' will make everything better and it really doesn't if there is no other work to be done within your life to actively want that change.

The problem with that is: the more aware you are of your surroundings and macro-politics, the less worth you feel in fighting back. Millenials (or "our generation" as most users here are 30-40) were much more educated than their predecessors, in that you're now aware of all the bullshit through the world one have to endure to achieve minimal success, and if you're out of the first world, good luck friend. Personally I was enduring through college, but could only start "fighting back" the last 4 years.
I'm with you that the polarization of the debate, the glorification of neurodivergence and the propaganda pushes for people to become cattle to meds and their own shortcomings, but utmostly the pills are there to help you go through it, you just need to be aware and not let your body become a tool for (((them))).

If you're a Mint member (and you should be!) don't miss this video, it's really good! But I post because it demonstrates something about why talents might seem "busy" all the time, despite not always producing a lot of visible content.

So Mint has an appearance at this Truck event a few days back. Seems simple enough - show up for a set and sing some songs. And you'd expect to have to do a little more than just show up - maybe go over a set list with them, do a tech/audio check beforehand, stuff like that, right? But they actually asked her to pre-record a "backup" version of the entire set up front in case there were tech problems (!?!!?)

Luckily for members she agreed to post the entire thing so we have it available, but you've got to wonder how often talents are being asked for this sort of shit, and how much of it is getting consigned to the ether unseen afterwards.....
