and the other local options are Calli who'd be too busy with music, the twins who are a bit too soft spoken to host, and on the JP side Subaru and Ririka might not be confident enough in their skills to take the job.
You forgot IRyS

A-chan and Yagoo being public "faces" of the company who interact with fans has been one of the most smartest PR decisions in vtubing history imo, although it helps alot that they were both also seemingly great people by all accounts
Giving your fans some contact with the staff and outright having the CEO fucking around and liking/retweeting random shit or showing up for special events has done wonders to endear them into the company

Its fun when some can still replicate that succesfully like Fishman but also how Riku and Aviel just end up looking even more like con artists or wierd techbros
Yagoo has been public enough and honest enough to not look slimy like Riku or Aviel, but also remains elusive enough to not come off like an utter autist like Fishman.

It's a complete rrat, but I wonder if they'll be pulling Bae into some hosting duties for future cross-ID/EN/JP streams now that A-chan can't translate (and the other local options are Calli who'd be too busy with music, the twins who are a bit too soft spoken to host, and on the JP side Subaru and Ririka might not be confident enough in their skills to take the job. If Kiara was in Japan I'd say her, for sure). Plus there was this tweet, which could be referring to regular work that's just busier than normal or to her picking up new work she wasn't doing before:

That is unrelated. She just has a ton of shit going on between projects, learning choreo for both the World Tour and Breaking Dimensions, and God knows what else. She is honestly more worrying than usual. She has seemed really stressed lately.

That being said, part of her wanting to join holo was to do the main-channel stuff, especially the 3D stuff, so she was likely gonna be playing that role with or without A-chan around, in some cases. IRyS has been also taking on the MC role sometimes, as well, so I could see her doing it.

I mean... Holo will go bankrupt, be bought out and rebranded or fade into obscurity some day, that's just how companies work. I REALLY DOUBT it will be any time soon though, given that their only semi-threatening competition just shot themselves in the foot and took themselves out of the EN market altogether.

Whenever Holo breathes its last vtubing will probably be radically different, maybe vtubing will die somewhere along the way and Holo will live on doing multimedia like bushiroad, who knows? The life of intangible entities like companies cannot be measured like the life of people, which is definitely finite. The only definitive thing is that their influence on vtubing history and internet culture is undeniable and will always be tied to the medium, even if they go away it will be impossible to have people forget what was. I'd honestly prefer the company to implode suddenly one day rather than slowly waste away and become a shell of its former self like many others.
The very concept of "you need a big corpo contract to do X" will die, vtubing is going go down the record labels and book publishers route, where first big, then small corpos will fall out of relevancy in favor of smaller, task service companies.
Even today, Hololive offers NOTHING that that you can't do as an indie. Their main value is clout, and there will be companies offering clout as service in the future. Unless humanity will fuck up massively and first world economy will go back to scarcity.

Yeah, because a Hololive concert and a YouTube karaoke relay are the same thing.

If you act like a fag and stretch things out in theory all indies can just produce a holo tier concert but they will probably spend a life-changing amount of money to barely recieve half of their investment back on the admin/behind the scenes shit alone

Michi will have a YouTube stream in about 6 hours, which has become a rarity. Mysterious title and schedule spot. Some things will be announced, no clues as to what.

It has been a while since this stream, but since the results are now starting to come out I'll quickly go over what it was about.

The gist of the stream was "Sorry for no YouTube content". When she started she wanted to get out multiple YouTube videos per week together with the occasional YouTube stream. She hired editors and everything but for a variety of reasons the videos stopped coming. She also says she doesn't like dual streaming so streams on YouTube would have to be exclusive.

As for what she want's to do about the situation: More editors and, as an experiment, cut down VODs with minimal editing, edited by herself right after she finishes the stream. This is something she want's to try to get a steady stream of content for the YouTube channel and while chat told her it would probably be a lot more work than she imagines she said she wanted to see for herself.

The first of these cut down VODs is now out on her channel:

Other topics in the stream included upcoming stuff like several covers, some of which are apparently ready for release but she wants to wait for the right occasion. Also some Pride talk according to comments.

The insta 400k+ subs on debut that Hololive buffs you with is at the very least an enormous leg-up. Some indies can take off like a rocket, but the road is typically slow and sluggish.

Speaking of corpos, Doki have a damn good chance of starting one.
Why should anyone join the Doki corpo then?
