It's pretty funny for them to announce a new gen in a random Jackbox collab that was on prime JP hours. They didn't even say there was gonna be an announcement until the stream itself started. It's interesting when compared to how Advent got announced at the end of the EN live last year. You would think they'd do the same this year so I wonder what made them go at it so differently this time.

Holo might be getting some diamonds in the rough for this gen, can't think of anyone on my radar going radio silent in the past 3 months or so.

3 months is way too short a timespan, imo. For instance, the Go Go Nippon twins graduated something like 9 months before finally redebuting as FuwaMoco with Advent.

Please have a decent and consistent character designs and clothing. Advent was the first EN gen where everyone's looks just fits. No Kroni porn game tits and absurdly long legs, three hat Kiara with Zelda sword and shield, or 1.0 dark elf Irys. This and game perms are my only real issues with Cover.

If this really is an EU gen, or has some EU timezone members then I don't see an issue. That's a nearly dead timezone except Orange Woman and wouldn't crowd the NA timeslots. It makes sense to me.

I'm surprised that there was a shorter time period between EN Gen 3 and Gen 4 compared to Gen 2 and Gen 3.

Chalk it up as an indication to how well HoloLive is currently structured compared to that "era"?

Yeah I've been thinking this is a problem for a long time now but so far it hasn't come to pass yet I suppose. Advent still does good numbers even with relatively low sub counts for EN. ReGloss also, despite relatively low sub counts and a lack of fanart etc. whenever I search, also do good numbers when they stream. Actual sub count doesn't really seem to matter, it could be an indicator of popularity but actual viewers and consistency is way more important and so far that hasn't lessened for hololive.

Advent has been nothing but good for HoloEN. While live viewers per talent doesn't really increase, the total live views did, significantly.

As for EN4, I personally was satisfied with 14/15 members, but if Cover thinks they need more I will respect their decision for it.

I wouldn't worry, similar reactions have always came up the last year or two when a new gen was announced, and so far they all have managed to integrate and find an audience.

Also someone mentioned the shift from releasing new Gens to making the current ones more profitable; I don't think Cover meant a total stop, since the auditions are always open, I assume when they find enough good talent for a new gen they will release then, it's just not a top priority that get's pushed.

I would argue that HoloEN could have a 5th, MAYBE 6th gen as a maximum cap before saturation seriously affects them.

However, if they applied a stellar content strategy focusing on unity, they could use the numbers to their advantage (I.E. the pipe-dream of 24/7 HoloLive EN scheduled programming).

There was a similar reaction to Myth back in the day, especially on the heels of JP5. Who needs English speakers when we have plenty of Holos already with translators?

I'm not concerned with a gen a year forever. It gives older talents the opportunity to pick their activity level without killing the branch.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I feel like this is too early... Especially when they've mentioned slowing down and focusing on the talents they have currently. I'll still watch the debuts with much interest but like some others have mentioned, with mixed feelings.

Like HoloX, it's likely just overflows from previous auditions. There's not too many notable graduations unless they truly look at anyone, then I can list no less than 30 graduations in the last 2 weeks alone.

Ririka retweets a decent amount of raunchy fanart of herself daily. And Raiden also has a lot of going around. Maybe you are just looking at wrong tags
